The “Paws Off Our Pets” campaign, created in collaboration with Lush Cosmetics, officially launched nationwide on Monday, May 11, 2026. The campaign aims to raise awareness about the continued use of dogs and cats in harmful research and testing, while further educating the public across Canada.

To mark the campaign launch, Lush Cosmetics brought a one-day pop-up activation to Toronto’s Union Station on May 12, 2026. A glass cube showcasing hundreds of pet collars served as a visual representation of the number of cats and dogs used in Ontario research between 2018 and 2022, inviting the public to pause, reflect, and take action by signing Animal Alliance of Canada’s petition
on site.
From now until May 20, supporters across Canada can purchase a special paw-shaped soap at participating Lush stores or online, with proceeds supporting Animal Alliance’s work to end the use of dogs and cats in invasive research, close the loopholes that still allow former pets to enter laboratories in Ontario, and raise awareness about the use of dogs and cats in research across Canada.

Supporters can also take action in-store at postcard signing stations, where postcards will be mailed to each provincial premier, or take action online here.
