The first step is planning. Speak with a lawyer or financial advisor to create or update your estate plan in a way that reflects your wishes.
The following sample language may help you, in consultation with your estate planning advisor, to document your gift.
For gift of a specific amount:
I give and bequeath to Animal Alliance of Canada, currently located at 221 Broadview Avenue, Suite 101, Toronto, ON M4M 2G3, ____________ Dollars ($ _______) to be used for its unrestricted purposes.
For gift of a percentage of your estate:
I give and bequeath to Animal Alliance of Canada, currently located at 221 Broadview Avenue, Suite 101, Toronto, ON M4M 2G3, _______ percent (__%) of my residuary estate to be used for its unrestricted purposes.
