Toronto’s Mobile spay and neuter services for dogs and cats
With all of the horrific images and sad news stories occupying the news this week, I wanted to be sure to draw attention to an amazing, positive program that launched in Toronto yesterday. (May 11, 2016)
Toronto Animal Services’ Mobile Spay/Neuter Your Pet (SNYP) Clinic will be rolling into neighbourhood improvement areas throughout the city to provide low cost spay and neuter services for dogs and cats. Residents with an income of less than $50,000 will qualify for subsidized fees. Residents with less than $30,000 income will be able to have their cats and small dogs spayed/neutered at no charge.
The state-of-the-art truck is the first of its kind in Canada and was made possible through a $250,000 donation from PetSmart Charities of Canada™, and additional donations from Toronto residents.
“The SNYP truck will let us bring spay neuter services into the areas that need our services most,” said Dr. Esther Attard. “We can bring the truck to areas where people might not be able to transport their animals to one of our stationary clinics.”
Residents can call 416-338-6281 to book an appointment and check the website for dates that the truck will be in their neighbourhood. The SNYP truck is currently operating 2 days a week, with intent to ramp up to 5 days a week .
More information and the schedule for the SNYP mobile clinic is available at http://www.toronto.ca/snyptruck.
What a fantastic program! THANK YOU Toronto Animal Services, for identifying a problem and actually going out, finding a solution, and making it happen!
What a great addition to helping the animals of Toronto!

I would like to have a kitten neutered. Which is the near Don Mills and Steeles? How much in advance would you have to be notified? How much is it? How long would the kitten have to be with you?

Hi, my name is Robyn
I’ve been trying to get my small dog who just turned 2, spayed for over a year! Unfortunately covid stopped all surgeries. Has it started up again? If so who can I call to make arrangements and when will the snip truck be in the area of Markham Road and Eglinton AvE?
Lia Laskaris says
Hi Robyn,
We do not know the schedule for the SNYP Truck, but we do know that it is back up and running, thankfully. You can call or email Toronto Animal Services for more information: https://www.toronto.ca/community-people/animals-pets/spay-neuter-services/snyp-truck-dates-and-locations/
Thank you for persisting!
