Leave a message with his office to let him know that
you support a ban on cosmetic animal testing and
urge him to implement the legislation as quickly as possible.
Over a year ago, in 2019, the Cruelty-Free Cosmetic Act, Bill S-214 died. This means that rabbits, rats, mice and guinea pigs can still be used to test cruel cosmetics in Canada. Bill S-214 would have accomplished two things:
- made it illegal to test cosmetic products and their ingredients on animals in Canada; and
- banned the sale of cosmetic products that had been newly animal tested on animals in other parts of the world.
Canada needs to act now and join the forty other countries that have implemented cosmetic animal testing bans.
